Treatment can take on many different forms depending on what the problem is. For example, for muscular injuries we may utilise various forms of massage, thermal treatments, electrotherapy or exercise therapy.

Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy
Sports Massage is the application of Massage techniques to prepare the body for sporting activity, maintain the body between events, and aid recovery following sporting activity. Unlike Swedish Massage, Sports Massage can be quite vigorous and even uncomfortable but the results can be dramatic. Used for regular maintenance, it can help detect minor niggles before they develop into injuries. Depending on your requirements, it can also leave you feeling energized or relaxed.

Remedial Massage is used for general aches and pains, tired, knotted muscles, tension headaches, etc. Again, be prepared for deep pressure and possible discomfort the next day; but well worth it!

45 minutes for 1/2 body - £30
75 minutes for full body - £40

SLM Bodywork for Back Pain
We are now studying an outstanding therapy called SLM. This involves whole body treatment to treat chronic Back Pain. As the body compensates to shy away from pain, other areas become tight and imbalanced.

We are moving towards offering all our clients this form of treatment as it is so successful. Visit the SLM site for more information.

Following a detailed consultation, you will be required to strip down to underwear so we can visually check for any muscular imbalances and postural problems. You will then lay face down on the couch so we can check your leg length. A towel is then placed over your pelvic area but no other modesty covering is used.

We then apply either hot towels or hot packs to the upper body for 5 minutes to soften the tissues. On removing the heat, we begin the massage section of the treatment. This will entail working in a clockwise fashion around the back and then the legs several times. When we detect stubborn areas, long compressions and sweeps will be applied to that area. You will then turn face upwards and the treatment will continue to the upper body and fronts of legs. Obviously, females will be covered with modesty towels at this stage.

Due to the fact that treatment doesn't linger on specific areas, muscular soreness is limited although you may feel some discomfort the next day. Other side effects can be tiredness and thirst.
We will provide you with information on home care and any exercises we feel will help.

The full SLM session will take approximately 75 mins and costs £40.

Sports Injury Therapy
The mode of treatment given for sports and recreational injuries will depend on the type, age and location of the injury . We will utilise Ultrasound, heat, ice, stretching, soft tissue manipulation and massage.

Some of the injuries we deal with include;

Calf/Hamstring strains
Ligament sprains
Sciatic and Hip pain
Back, neck and Shoulder pain
Whiplash
Frozen Shoulder

Sessions are for 45 minutes and cost £30

Rehabilitation
Following your injury treatment, you will then need to go through a period of rehabilitation to ensure no reoccurrence and you do not return to activity too soon.
This will take the form of various exercises ranging from free weights, body weight exercises, resistance bands and coordination. We will also use our Pilates experience to strengthen core muscles and work on flexibility.

Sessions are for 55 minutes and cost £30
